About Us
BeeHappy is a Durban based company committed to providing beekeepers throughout South Africa with a comprehensive range of quality beekeeping equipment and products, many of which are produced in-house. Our workshop is set up to design and produce custom-made equipment to meet beekeepers' individual needs.
Our goal is to keep both new and advanced beekeepers well informed of new and innovative techniques and equipment that make their jobs easier and more efficient thus facilitating greater financial reward.

BeeHappy was founded in 2017 on a smallholding in Assagay, KwaZulu Natal. The company is run by myself, Dylan Stephen ably assisted by my wife Keyla Stephen, and Raine Solomon, co-founder.
I was fortunate enough to be living next to Wood Forum, a furniture factory, and was given the opportunity to learn the carpentry trade from Garth Palmer. After dabbling in a few wood projects for friends and family. I was asked to make up a sample beehive for Assagay Honey Farm, that had lost their carpenter. And the rest is history. My love for nature and wood-working came together.

Protecting nature, one hive at a time!
Recycling timber is the environmentally friendliest form of timber production where supplies of discarded wooden structures and crates are plentiful.We have saved these crates and given them a new lease in life, a new purpose to help save the bees and our planet from deforestation.
All our hives and frames are made from reclaimed timber and the aluminium lids are from re-purposed printing press sheets. So should you find a blemish or two, just know that you are helping save a tree or two.
